I Prayed For You By Jean Fischer, illustrated by Frank Endersby

Did you know that even before you were born, I prayed for you?
Mommies love their babies and pray over them before they are born and for their whole lives. This book will help them share the many ways they have prayed, and continue to pray, over the lives of their precious children.
Mama Bear shares with Baby Bear how much she prayed for her, even before Baby Bear was born. And each and every day, Mama prays and asks God to help Baby Bear grow big and strong, be safe, love God, and be good to others.
From before these sweet babies are born, and for every part of their futures, Mama covers them in prayer. Every spread will share a different prayer, and mamas everywhere will resonate with this eternally important message.
Baby bears everywhere will fall asleep knowing they are loved and prayed over.

Such a great read for my son at bedtime. Even after the rough days we have with him having Autism and unable to control himself at times, it certainly reassured him of how much he was loved by us, his parents, and by God. This book has a nice rhyming scheme and it is accompanied by scripture on each page. Nice board book with a spongy cover. Definitely recommend!

Most of us grew up on these characters and have come to love the morals the stories teach us. Being a Christian, it's nice to sit down and read something familiar with characters my child love and know. It get's us teaching them the story of Jesus birth and what happened that blessed Christmas morn. Love it.

Diary of a Jackwagon By Tim Aaron Hawkins with John Drive

Popular Christian comedian Tim Hawkins shares his hilarious perspective on life in the 21st century.
In this wide-ranging, long-awaited book, comedian Tim Hawkins holds forth on everything from family, culture, and music to church, parenting, and education. Readers will enjoy laughing their way through the book, always feeling good about the clean and sometimes inspiring material they are laughing at. Chapters include riffs on marital communication ("marriage needs a challenge flag, like in pro football") aging ("the diabolical orifice witch hunt"), worship music ("pick the right key, because I'm not Barry White and I'm not a Bee Gee"), and fatherhood ("There are no manuals for parenting. Color-coded warning labels or open-ended prescriptions would be just as helpful.")
For fans of Jim Gaffigan's Dad Is Fat and Food: A Love Story, Tim Hawkins' hilarious first book reveals that for life's many difficulties, laughter is the best medicine-when there aren't any pills left.

Never heard of Tim until now but I love some good ol' Christian humor! Love the laughs and the overall general sillyness as he wasn't afraid to be himself. I've since went digging for some audio/video and some of it is what I read in this book but it's nice hearing him tell the stories. Tim is not a religious nut but firm in his beliefs. I believe he's become a new favourite in this household. Thanks BookLook Bloggers for the free review copy! You've added some more laughter to our home!

The Good, The Bad & The Grace of God By Jep & Jessica Robertson

A Moving Story of Redemption and Second Chances
Jep Robertson, the youngest son of Duck Commander Phil Robertson, and his wife, Jessica, open up about their personal trials, their early years together, and the challenges that might have destroyed them both had the grace of God not intervened. Jep describes being molested as a child and his reluctance to tell anyone until only a few years ago, his downward spiral into drug and alcohol abuse, and the eventual intervention of his family. Jessica shares about the difficult failure of her first marriage while still a teenager and the hurt that came along with it, much of it from the church. Her insecurities spun out of control as she wondered whether she would ever be good enough or pretty enough. This book is their love story but, more importantly, their love story for God.
“We are desperate to let people know that no matter what you’ve done; no matter what you’ve lived through, you can come out of it. You can be washed clean. You are redeemed."
About the AuthorsJep Robertson
Jep first met Jessica in 2001 and they were married within two weeks of announcing their engagement. Jules Jeptha “Jep” Robertson is the youngest son of Phil and Kay Robertson from A&E’s hit series Duck Dynasty. Jessica grew up hunting with her father on the weekends in the woods of Louisiana and previously worked as a licensed real estate agent. Jep and Jessica are proud parents of 4 children: Lily, Merritt, Priscilla, and River.
Susy Flory is the author or coauthor of five books, including the New York Times bestseller Thunder Dog. Her articles have appeared in Today's Christian Woman, Enrichment Journal, Guideposts books, Kyria.com, and with Focus on the Family.

If you're a Duck Dynasty fan this book is a must read! Love how they're so open about their struggles and relationships and prove that the media is not making them something they are not. It shows the struggles we all face are real and happens to people from all walks of life. Love their honesty and laid back style. Just because they have a billion dollar empire they don't allow the love of money to enter their lives and change their attitudes. Jep shows how the power of forgiveness should be the forefront of every Christians life and how we can put those struggles behind us and move forward with Gods grace. Highly recommend, especially for any Robertson fan.

Each devotional includes a scripture, a brief devotional reading, a prayer, and a meaningful takeaway that helps children build a strong foundation of faith. This is the first children's book in the hugely popular MyDaily™ Devotional line. Devotionals for adults in the MyDaily series have sold more than 173,000 copies.

He is the president of Timothy Barnabas Ministry designed to encourage pastors and their wives. Well it's been a few nights and my son loves learning more about the Bible and Jesus. I think this will have a positive impact on his relationship with God. Prior to this book we never had a devotion routine, just prayers. I've since learned how important it was not to just tell kids it's the right path but show them why. The stories are short and easy to understand. Love the little connected bookmark to save our place.

It isn’t long before the cubs start up a game of baseball and Sister soon notices that Tommy doesn’t play like the rest of the group. And that we all have special gifts and talents to share with the folks around us.About the AuthorMike Berenstain grew up watching his parents, Stan and Jan, working together to write and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too.

I absolutely love how the Berenstain Bears have incorporated scripture references in their stories. Their books have always been about good values now I can use what I'm used to to teach my son more about the Bible and the Christian way. Always very bright and colorful and very believable scenarios. Mama and Papa are always very gentle but stern with their cubs. The pages are always a good quality and smooth material which is very important to my Autistic son. Looking forward to more good reads!

Hawkins) into a devotional that will help kids learn and live the scriptures. Using kid-friendly language, I Can Learn the Bible teaches scriptures in a way children can understand. Each week, kids will commit a new scripture to memory by reading a fun, engaging devotional that’s doable for a child. Matthew 7:7 will remind kids to always ask God for help. And 50 more scriptures will continue to write the truth on their hearts so that they will remember it forever.Parents using the gift book will love using the kids’ book as a discussion tool for the entire family. A great gift for baptisms, confirmations, and any special occasion, I Can Learn the Bible includes clever tips for memorizing scripture. Each new day and each new verse will reinforce to young readers that “God’s Word is FOR ME and TO ME, it is IN ME and working THROUGH ME, and just like His love, it goes on and on forever!”About the AuthorHolly Hawkins Shivers is actively involved in children's and women's ministry and is a contributor to various writing projects and ministry blogs. I Can Learn the Bible is her first book. She lives with her husband and four children in Plano, Texas, where she also enjoys traveling, music, and running . . . mostly after her little ones!

What an awesome devotional for children. I read it with my son and we discuss the principals and scripture. I like how we can focus on one devotional a week and apply the verse to every day. This is perfect for my 4 year old son who has aspergers but may be a little hard to understand for the average preschooler. We do thoroughly enjoy talking about how God is working through us as well as for us.

It's A God Thing Vol. 2

More incredible stories of God's intervention
Some things in life have no earthly explanation. It's just a God thing.
Miracles are not reserved for the characters in the Old and New Testaments; they happen to everyday people today, all around the world. Series creators Don Jacobson and K-LOVE Radio Network (14 million listeners) have joined together once again to produce a remarkable collection of modern-day miracles.
Stories include:
  • A man who was mysteriously pulled from a broken truck as it sailed over a ravine
  • A young boy who made a full recovery after being trapped under water for seven minutes
  • A young girl who defied all medical prognoses and survived after her vehicle was hit by a train
  • A mother, compelled to drive across town, who found her nine-year-old son stranded and alone at a busy intersection
Experiences like these are far more common than one may realize. From more than 1,000 occurrences, these 40 stories were chosen for their ability to amaze, encourage, and inspire all who live each day with both faith and doubt, victory and despair. Each day, the sunrise itself is a sign of God's miraculous hand, and these stories prove that it's only the beginning.

58 stories to lift us and encourage us and most of all remind us that God is with us everyday. It's just what I needed in this crossroads of my life, not sure which way to turn but these stories gave me a little reminder that God is in control. Maybe it's a good thing it was late arriving from the publisher ;) It's a nice read for someone always on the go and can't always finish a book in one sitting. The stories are short but they have a big impact on your heart. I mean, people will wonder how someone could survive a broken neck, or where the urges to check on a child come from. That, my friend, is God. God is in the everyday, not just the big things, but the little things too. I've read the first volume of this book as well and I hope Don Jacobson & sponsor, K-Love Radio, continues with this series. There's so much hope and inspiration to keep you going when you feel like giving up. If God can do it for the 58 people in this book, than He can do it for you.
